I Am Wanting To Put A Trench Type Thing To Outline My Garden Area'S. How Do I Do This? Details Please.?
I Have Tried Putting In The Plastic Border Stuff And It Keeps Coming Up And Doesn'T Look How I Want. I Was Thinking That Maybe I Could Just Dig Around It. I'M Not Sure &Quot;Trench&Quot; Is The Right Word Though. I Just Want To Keep The Mulch In And The Grass Out Mainly. I Don'T Have Alot Of Money To Spend, That'S Why I Was Thinking Of Doing This. Thanks So Much!
Hi:
I am a landscape and designer. Trench is the right word and you can do a trench without spending any money or do some things that is inexpensive.
One of the best trenches are man made. Your bed is already outlined in a defined shape. You can take your shovel or a mattocks or pic and dig a trench in two to four inch depth. My crew and I have done anywhere from two to six inch depth and two to four feet wide. Once the trench is clear out, there are a couple of options you can do to finish the landscape bed.
Add mulch in your bed and let the mulch flow along the trench. This is a great professional look. Pine Straw will work also.
You can also take some decorative rocks and border the bed and trench line. If you have rocks in your yard, use them as a natural look.
Of course you can rent a landscping trencher, but I like the man made look as its a more natural look.

I Live In Chicago And Thursday I Aerated, Seeded And Fertilized My Lawn-Then All This Rain Came, Yard Flooded.?
Is The Seed Automatically Washed Away? Do I Need To Reseed Or Should I Just Wait Till Spring?
Hmmm. I agree with Connie that it is likely the seeds washed away if the storms were strong enough. I'd wait until Spring, so that you can see if any seeds did take or not and avoid an early frost killing of your second attempt at seeding - it would get quite expensive! Next time around though it would definitely be worthwhile to buy some wheat straw (not pine straw) - you can get it at any big box home improvement store. Use it sparingly to cover the seeds (about 3/4 bale per 1000 square feet). This helps to keep the seeds in place from rain and wind. It also helps to prevent the birds from feasting on your "soon to be" new lawn!

How Can I Be Allergic To These But..?
How Come I'M Allergic To Cat'S,Birds And The Hay And Straw Used With Caged Pets Such As Hamsters Etc But I'M Not Allergic To Dogs At All? I Own A Bichon And I Know They Are Hypo-Allergenic But Even Other Dogs Who Aren'T So Don'T Bother Me In The Least. How Is That?
Just as each type of food is different and tree pollens are different..... animals are different.
Your body for some reason overreacts when you come in contact with cats and birds. But dogs are a different type of animal so their dandruff is different and you body does not see it as a threat so it does not see the need to attack it.
For example, I am allergic to pine and birch trees but not maple trees. The pollens are different and my body only has a freak out when pine and birch pollen is near.
