FAQ
I Would Like Some Pointers On How To Grow Blueberries.?
I Am Especially Interested In Growing Them To Be Organic.
Pretty easy.
Best production normally happens when at least two varieties are planted in close proximity and as foliages vary from bronze to blue green, the plants can double as a nice hedge or backdrop too!
Bees do just about all the pollination so hives nearby are a good thing.
Top dress when planting with a little compost. They like acidic soil so use fir or pine sawdust or pine straw, needles etc. as a thick mulch (about 1 cubic foot per plant to start). Never use cedar or other slow decomposing species as the natural preservatives in these types of wood will kill plants). Continue to add a little more compost and a new layer of mulch each year in the fall after leaves have fallen or early spring before leaves are out.
Plants require watering as berries develop. A drip type irrigation away from the leaves is best in reducing mildews etc. Note that the berries have a natural "blush" or powdery look which is not a problem (as it is on leaves or stems).
Some types are more susceptible to fungus and mildew than others so check around to see what performs best in your area. Use garden sulfur in solution with vegetable oil and dish detergent as an all around organic treatment for mildew and problem insects on leaves. Typically 1 tbsp. sulfur, 1 tsp. each oil and soap with 1 quart water.
Birds can be trouble too, so you may wish to cover plants with a net as berries ripen.
Good luck!
Question About Child Labor Laws In State Of Georgia...?
Okay, So I Am 16, And I Live In Georgia. My Dad Owns A Lawn Care/Landscaping Business And I Often Work With Him. I Do Things Such As Edge The Yard, Run The Blower, Put Down Fertilizer, Spray Weed-Killer, Place Pine Straw, Etc. I Was Recently Told That Since I Do Not Have A Work Permit To Be Doing This, And Since It Is Considered An &Quot;Agricultural&Quot; Occupation, That I, Well Mainly My Dad, Could Get In Some Serious Trouble. Apparently I'M Not Supposed To Run Such Machines That Could Endanger Me Nor Am I Supposed To Handle Poison (Weed Killer). I Really Don'T Know How Accurate These Accusations Were, But I Would Really Like For All Of This To Just Be Cleared Up. Also, During The School Year Like Doing Spring Break (Which Is Right Now) My Dad And I Will Work From 8 Am Until 7-7:30 That Night Nearly Non-Stop. Please Help In Anyways Possible And Let Me Know What Is Not Okay So We Don'T Get Into Any Kind Of Trouble. Thank You In Advance.
You do not need any sort of permit to work in GA. as far as lawn mowing and the such i know plenty of kids who had their own lawn mowing businesses and never had any problems. These were not your regular, " hey miss Johnson do you need me to mow your lawn?" They actually had contracts with customers and employees and multiple pieces of machinery.
I live in GA and am 20. When i was 15 i worked at a fast-food restaurant and basically broke every law they had about child labor. Such as operating certain machines, doing certain jobs.
If my memory serves me correctly then since you are 16 the only "time" requirements you have is no more then 25 hours a week during the school year and no more then 5 hours during a school day...I know it was something silly like that but it only really matters if your dad is documenting how much and when you work. I would just suggest that he fudges the numbers a little bit and spread it out over a couple of days/weeks. Thats what i did when i was a manager at the fast-food restaurant.
My Rabbit Poops Everywhere In The House(Not In The Same Area)?
How Can I Train My Rabbits To Use The Bathroom In A Certain Area? Everywhere We Go Little Black Balls That My Dogs Are Starting To Eat. Ewwwwww.. Please Help!!
How to get your rabbits to use the bathroom in a certain area, you ask? How about a litter box. Rabbits are easily trained to use a litter box, just like a cat would.
Put a litter box in its cage. If you don't keep it in a cage, put it somewhere in the house where the rabbit usually is. As for the litter you use, do not use clay or clumping litters, or cedar or pine wood shavings. Use a litter that is rabbit friendly and odor absorbant. Some good brands are Critter Country, Eco-Straw Pellets, Gentle Touch and Cell-Sorb Plus.
Its a little long to write, so I'm going to post a site that will list the steps to litter box training.

All my rabbits have been litter box trained and they all got used to it around a week.
Best of luck to you and your rabbits!
Small Bump On Foot Filled With Clear Liquids?? Possibly A Wart?
Ok, So I'M 13. I Have A Small Bump The Bottom Of My Foot(About An Inch And A Half Below My Big Toe About On The Very Edge Of My Foot) That Is Filled With A Clear Liquid. By Small, I Mean About A Quarter The Size Of My Pinkie Nail. I Only Noticed It Because It Was Raised A Bit. I Tried Popping It Thinking It Might Be A Splinter (Because I Put Pine Straw Down While Wearing Sandals, Yes I'M An Idiot) But It Wouldnt Pop. I Consulted My Mom Who Is A Nurse And She Said It Was Probably A Planters Wart. But Shes Not In The Skin Department, But Rather Of Taking Care Of People After Surgery. And Aren'T Planters Warts Supposed To Itch?? Cause Mine Doesn'T....Please Help!!!! I'M Freaked Out By It!!!! D:
...
When was the last time you looked at the bottom of your foot?
If you didn't notice anything when you put on your sandals today the bump probably surfaced during your day out or in the pine straw.
If it's got fluid in it, you or your mom can take a needle and heat on a flame to sterilize it and then
burst the skin til the fluid comes out. Swab the area around the blister with rubbing alcohol before you burst the blister and after. If you have a splinter, use tweezers and a really bright light. If you don't think it's a blister, then leave it and get advice from your MD.
From your description I don't it's plantar warts. Check Wikipedia for more info.

My Rosemary Christmas Tree Is Browning Out. How Can I Help It?
Hi Everybody. Thanks For Being Here For Me. I Could Afford A Mini-Christmas Tree This Year. And I Love It. It'S A 2 Foot Rosemary Shrub. It Smells Better Than The Pines I Remember Vividly As A Kid. However, Mine Seems To Be Browning Out, With Its Needles Turning Black. I Water Thoroughly And Allow To Drain Thoroughly, And Set It Up In The Sunniest Window (Where Ever Other Plant Seems {Okay For Now}). I Water Daily, As The Directions Suggest. My Simple Device For Measuring Indoor Temperature Reads 80 Degrees. I Do My Very Best Not Water The Needles. Some Water Landed On The Lowest Of Boughs, But The Black Needles Extends All The Way Up. She Is Not Dead, Just Loosing Needles Faster And Faster Since I Adopted Her. Any Suggestions As To How To Help Her Thrive? One More Question, Is It Ok To Recycle Her Dead Needles Among My Other Plants? Sort Of Like An Indoor Mulch? Thanks For Your Help! (I Have More Questions On The Way, But Will Save For Another Day)
Who told you to water every day???!!! I hope you have been only watering when it is STARTING to get dry. Rosemary is actually a very hardy herb/bush. If it is dropping needles/leaves you have probably got root problems. They may have started to rot or seal themselves off in an effort to survive. Plants will sometimes go into shock when they are transplanted from one container or garden to another. When this happens the roots stop drawing in moisture and or nutrients and seal themselves off. This causes the plant to slowly die back. As the roots die so do parts of the plant. It will start with the leaves, secondary limbs and onto the primary limbs and stems until it is completely dead. The die back could also be because of abrupt changes to its enviroment, water light and temperature. if it is near a source of heat that turns off and on (furnace vent or fireplace) or near a draft (door to outside or window that is opened occasionally) this dramatic change can cause leaves to die and fall off. It sounds like you got the instructions for myrtle. This plant is also sold as a christmas tree shaped plant for the season and it does need watering almost everyday and frequent misting. It has a nice fragrance as well but not nearly as strong as rosemary. Try placing your plant in a bright place with a stable temp. water when pot feels light when you lift it. Do not let it sit in water. lightly scratch the stems and check that they are still fresh green and supple. If dry and brittle prune back to healthy stems and try use a water soluble fert. like 20-20-20. lightly water first with room temp. water and then use the fert/water solution to finish watering plant. follow mix. directions carefully don't make it too strong or you may burn the roots.
