Anyone Know, Or Have A Link To Help Out? Thanks
3 is correct, it's the only eastern pine with 5 needles per fasicle/bundle.
For the others, along with the nedles it helps to know something about the bark and in what type of setting it was found (landscape plant? forest/mountains?). Also, cones can give you some clues.
Some links that might be able to help you -
http://dendro.cnre.vt.edu/dendrology/fac... - enter Pinus for the genus and NJ for the state (if found in a natural setting), otherwise, use this map http://www.jardinguide.com/wp-content/up... to find the zone where the plant was found in your state, 6 or 7. Once you get to individual species, there's also a "Looks like" section of links with each.
http://www.arborday.org/trees/whatTree/w... - good for native species only
http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=PINUS - another site where you can view species distribution maps to see what pines have been collected in NJ, even if you come up with a name in one of the other sites, you'll get additional photos of the species here (probably).
Pine Needle Mulch For Strawberries?
I Live In The Mountains And We Have Tons Of Pine Trees Around, Can I Just Go To Dead Pine Trees And Take The Needles Or Do I Need To Buy A Different Kind Of Mulch? If So What Would Be Good? And Does Anyone Know If It Is Illegal To Take The Needles?
Pine needle mulch is great for strawberries. If you know who owns the stretch of forest where you want to gather pine needles (called pine straw) go ask them, they probably will not mind. I have a friend who has so much of the stuff he happily brought me a whole load.

Where Are All These Ticks Coming From?
I Live In A Nice Home And Im A Very Clean Person. A Few Days Ago My Brother Found A Tick On Him. He Is Scared Of Ticks. So He Got Freaked Out And He Stared To Cry. His Old Friend He Used To Hang Out With Used To Always Have Ticks. And One Day My Brother Got Like 5 Of Them From Him. But My Brother Has Not Hung Out With Him For Like 2 Weeks And He Hasnt Gotten One For A While Since A Few Days Ago. And They Wont Hang Out Again. But Today I Found A Couple Ticks On Me And I Got A Little Scared. Ive Always Herd Tht They Can Get You Very Sick. Idk Where They Are Coming From. This Is The Very First Time I Have Ever Gotten Them! How Can I Prevent Ticks? Some People Say You Cant Prevent Them And Others Say You Have To Get A Certain Treatment. I Have 4 Dogs And 2 Cats But They All Wear Tick Med. And My Dad Even Checked All The Dogs. What Do I Do? Plz Help! Me And My Brother Feel Like They Are Crawling All Over Us!
I don't know what area of the country you are in but I know here in the south this winter was unseasonably warm. It never really got cold enough, long enough to effect the flea and tick population. I groom dogs for a living and already I am finding ticks on pets! Wooded areas and pine straw areas are a big attraction for them. Your pets should be on Frontline and if you are in a high risk area, Preventic collars as well. Ticks do carry disease but don't panic just keep note of if you feel ill after removing one. You can also contact a local pest control to come treat your yard...your brother didn't get ticks from his friend just maybe the area his friend is in.
Who Knows Where I Can Sell Pine Needles Y'All Call It Pine Straw?
Look up your local agricultural and forestry extension services. Check with your state's forest service, the department(s) of agriculture, and nearby universities for 'extension services, agriforestry'
Here's a typical one from Mississippi:
http://msucares.com/forestry/topics/pine...
That website also has links covering Florida and Louisiana. Texas has a similar service. (I downloaded instructions on how to build a pine straw baling rig from a Texas source.)
And the USDA has a pdf file about this type of 'agriforestry' here:

And here's the D.I.Y baling box how-to from Texas A&M:

Are Pine Needles A Good Mulch For All Garden Flowers?
I Understand Some Plants Like Alkaline Soil And Others Acidic Soil So If I Just Use Pine Needles Which I Can Get By The Ton From The Adjacent Vacant Lot Will It Do For Everything. I Have A Variety Of Many Plants. They Are All Doing Well But I Really Know Nothing About Horticulture. I Do Say A Little Prayer That St. Francis Will Help Me Do It Right So Maybe He Has Directed Me To Someone Here For Advice On Mulch. Thx All
A gift from St. Francis in the form of a rabbit....
wanna take some advise from one who wreally know about dig'n in the dirt? unless your garden is full of native or desert plants, almost all soil can benifit from using pine needles as a mulch. i got friends in california who would kill for what you have in your adjacent lot. me pal Elmer has a beautiful garden. when he ain't out hunt'n he is doing his horticultural stuff. mind you, he didn't learn his garden stuff from no school, just from what he learned in his own garden. well any who, me pal Elmer saz that ya can't go wrong using them pine needles in your garden. if you had a look see at his beautiful flowers and his wonderful veggie garden, you'd say he knows his stuff. i don't know how he does it, but his carrots are something to behold. the only problem i have with pine needles is getting poked in me nose when digging a new hole. but where ever i did under a pine tree, the soil is soft and rich. now St Francis ain't gonna send you no bunny that's gonna fib to you. and this bunny saz them pine needles from next door are a gift to you, so go get 'um and enjoy. happy gardening.
p.s. how 'bout plant'n a few carrots while you are at it?
